In his own words, it's as if he lives trapped in the cellar. Listening to the conversations of those above; unable to join them, unable to interact. Painfully aware of his own isolation.

Nick's a gentle and thoughtful young man who finds self-harming to be his only form of release. Hitting himself to get 'the right feeling'.
